With the GroupWise® 5.5 Plug-In for Outlook your users can choose the desktop client environment they prefer: GroupWise 5.5, Outlook 2000, Outlook 98, or all of the above. The GroupWise 5.5 plug-in is not an emulation or a conversion of Outlook, but an interoperability solution that allows the use of the Outlook 2000 and Outlook 98 clients with GroupWise 5.5 services. Using the plug-in, you can provide GroupWise e-mail, calendaring, and collaboration functions from within the Outlook client. Users can keep their Outlook data and software, while gaining a bridge from the standalone Outlook environment to the integrated, scalable world of GroupWise 5.5 collaboration. Task items can be created, sent, received, and stored between Outlook and GroupWise, and Outlook’s OLE and file-send interactions with other desktop applications remain intact. Even third-party Outlook add-ons and plug-ins are supported. With these features managers can take full advantage of their existing infrastructure by choosing the applications that are most cost-effective and allowing employees to collaborate while using the systems they find most efficient.
Administration of the GroupWise 5.5 Plug-In for Outlook is simple and straightforward. It can be easily deployed usingZENworks™ for Desktops and yet, because the plug-in uses the same authentication process as the GroupWise client, you can rest assured that your network environment and corporate information will remain secure. All access to the system can be controlled by an administrator, from a single point, using NDS™.
System Requirements:
- 5.5 GroupWise system with 5.5.2 GroupWise agents.
- Outlook 2000 or Outlook 98 Corporate or Workgroup (CW) installation.
- PC with a Pentium 75 MHz or higher processor.
- Microsoft Windows 95 or later operating system, or Microsoft Windows NT Workstation operating system version 4.0 Service Pack 3 or later.
- For Windows 95 or Windows 98: 32 MB of RAM.
- For Windows NT Workstation: 48 MB of RAM.
- 7 MB of available hard-disk space.
