GroupWise® 5.5 is a fully integrated, easy-to-use messaging system that offers a wide range of powerful communication and collaboration capabilities. New features for this version are added document management capabilities, native Internet addressing, new calendar options, and vCard support. Capabilities continued from the previous version, GroupWise 5.2, include e-mail, personal calendaring, group scheduling, imaging, automated workflow, task and document management, rules-based message management, and electronic discussions. You can also configure GroupWise to page you when a message arrives for you.
GroupWise simplifies communications by providing the Universal Mailbox, a single access point for all types of messages, calendar information, and documents. When you are away from your workstation, you can use a laptop computer, remote client, or Web browser to access your Universal Mailbox.
GroupWise supports Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, Internet Message Access Protocol 4, and Post Office Protocol 3. It includes a Java- and HTML 3.2-enabled version of GroupWise WebAccess that provides Web browser access to your Universal Mailbox. In addition, GroupWise 5.5 includes GroupWise WebPublisher, a document management tool that enables users to publish documents to the Internet and to your intranet.
The GroupWise 5.5 Administrator is integrated with the 32-bit NetWare Administrator utility, which means that you can easily set up, configure, and maintain your GroupWise messaging system using Novell Directory Services® as your master directory. And GroupWise 5.5 provides a snap-in utility forManageWise® that enables you to monitor and manage GroupWise 5.2 agents, servers, and gateways that support Simple Network Management Protocol.
GroupWise 5.5 supports Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95, Windows 3.1, UNIX, and Mac OS platforms. GroupWise 5.5 for servers supports Windows NT, NetWare®, and UNIX.
